Different Full Screen and Windowed Screen Resolutions?

Perhaps this has already been asked?
I'd like to use the nice animated togglinh between Full Screen and Windowed, except that my MBP has a default res of 1440x900. If I set this as the res in FS, then the windowed version takes up the entire desktop; if I set a different res., it works fine windowed, leaving me desktop space, but also doesn't work in full screen well.

Is there a solution to this problem?

It seems to work fine for me when switching between FS and windowed modes: in FS it is 1440x900, and it switches down to 1280x800 in windowed mode.

My problem comes when I suspend it while in FS mode. When it comes back, it comes back as 1440x900 windowed, and then it wants to switch between windowed and FS without changing the desktop resolution. I have to manually set it back to 1280x800 in windowed mode to get what I want.
