I find it very annoying that command-Q quits Parallels, particularly in Coherence Mode. I don't know if I will ever get used to not typing this key combination to quit Windows applications. Granted, it just suspends without destroying anything, but it would be even better if was just a no-op.

I would like to see one of two things, preferably #1:

    1. Let me disable command-Q.
    2. Give me a warning dialog when I use command-Q, preferably only when Windows applications are running.

Neither of the above should apply to using the menu option to quit. Quitting Parallels is a rare enough event that I don't mind if it I can't do it from the keyboard.

If parallels can't prevent this, is there some other Mac tool that can intercept command-Q? I tried using OS X System preferences to map Command-Q to "nothing" in Parallels but it still quit Parallels.

    Hello Morrie,

When your VM is running, choose "Parallels Desktop" in VM menu -> "Preferences". For "On application quit" option choose "Ask me what to do". Now a warning dialog will be given when you use command-Q.

    Best regards,
