I have read a number of threads on this forum with the same issue I'm now experiencing. I launch my VM (Windows 11, running under Parallels 17 on a MacBook with an ARM processor) and I arrive at a login screen with an image, the date/time, and two icons at bottom right. I can see and move my cursor, but when I click the mouse, the cursor disappears and can only be recovered by control-option. The keyboard is completely unresponsive. I have tried the various solutions shared on this forum, including reinstalling Parallels Tools (I cannot, the option to Reinstall is greyed out), setting mouse and keyboard to "Don't Optimize for Games" and I've also tried setting boot flags under Boot Order to devices.usb.mouse=0 and to video.hw_pointer=0 -- none of these have solved the problem.

There have been a number of posts to this forum about this issue. Steam seems to be a common denominator and I have Steam installed as well. Is there a solution to this issue? Does anyone have any other steps that have worked for them (including other "Boot Order" settings)?

Hello there, did you find any solution for your issue? I am having the same problem, not sure if it is because of steam though

    Same problem here running Kali.

I have to constantly shutdown and turn on the Kali VM in order to my keyboard to function at the login screen. That's so annoying!!!

This is a paid software, come on Parallels!!!

I could be wrong but I think this may have to do with steam as well. I noticed that I started having this issue around the time I turned off start steam upon startup. I have no Idea if it is related, and havent been able to confirm turn the setting on or off triggers anything. However, I reload to a prior state of parallels with steam open and it seems to operate with out issue. Dunno whats going on with that.
