Disappearing USB drive

I have noticed some very strange behaviour of disappearing USB devices. When I start Windows in Parallels, I have full access to my USB key. After some period of time (and possibly some suspend-start cycles), the drive disappears.When I deselect it via Devices menu, it becomes available to MAC OS. Selecting again for Windows (without removing the key from the port) used to bring it back to Windows. Now, at some point after restarting windows this becomes impossible. The tick is there on the menu, but Windows does not see the disk. Any number of ticking/unticking events, unplugging and plugging back, does not bring the device back. Restarting Windows does.

Any clues - otherwise I really like PD 4.x
