Display unreadable when running XP apps

Recently the XP environment has become unusable under parallels because the display content starts "flashing" also content disappears and then reappears, selecting menu items becomes impossible.

I am using a second display on my Mac Pro for Parallels/XP, the MAC is at 10.5.4 and Parallels is build 5600.

This problem seems to have started after recieiving the latest batch of Apple Updates for the MAC

The only way I can resolve this issue is to stop Parallels and restart the MAC.

Any ideas how to resolve?

Thank you for this guidance, it seems to have solved the problem. But I will be happier after 24 hours of trouble free running.

Just a point I raised two trouble tickets on this issue and never received any confirmation e mail......
