I can also confirm - No it does not To whom it may concern: This is my most requested feature! we have several accounting and engenering firms that utilizie dual monitors. I really would love to get rid of my standard reply of "Due to a software bug, the application your accessing is only able to display on your primary monitor - we are hoping the vendor will issue an update to correct this issue as soon as posisble." - Love 2x Application Server - and im just beginning to scratch the surface on it! Just speaking up and venting my request! - Not sure what's involved but all of my other remote dekstop software works on all monitors (I personally have 6 - a little extreme, but you should see how much i can do at the same time!) - D2G
:S Which microsoft Terminal Servers will provide support for RDP6? I'm guessing win2k3 R2 and longhorn server (win2k8). We have a few single session XP machines we use for a few of our clients to access individual single user applications - i know you can D/L RDP 6 client for XP - but does it have support for RDP 6 under it's remote desktop server? Just curious, -D2G
You need to have Vista or Windows Server 2008 (Longhorn) as the RDP host and a RDP 6.0 client at the client side (e.g. WinXP) to use the add. features of version 6. Microsoft has published the details with http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925876/en-us Holger
Pefect.. So basicly in order to run published applications in dual monitor (ie. supported features of RDP6) i would be forced to install Vista or W2K8 server both of which are resource hogs and would require super powerfull hardware to support the same amount of thin-clients i can with XP or w2k :S - a joke really - and not really worht the expense - i could prob bu all new desktops :S
Most of our clients advance your view. They do not like to change their w2k/w2k3 environment... Holger
2X's Dual Monitor solution will be available on 2000 & 2003. SO you do not need to upgrade to 2008/vista. Nixu
That's cool, thanks! I'm sorry that we hand over the wrong information. Our last update from 2X regarding this matter was at the 6th of July (last week) and it was told that such a feature won't be available... Thanks again Holger
Thats a relief! - We are busy drawing up proposals for several clients and we eventually want to take several of them down the dual monitor path - and some already have them. So we wanted to get a grasp on what we were looking at having to do for OS implmentation. Vista and 2k8 just don't seem worth the investment to us or our clients. Microsoft seems too worried about craming in everything but the kitchen sink to their OS's to the point where they are bloated and waste hardware resources - our clients would rather have a streamlined OS that is fine tuned with only what they use. Thanks again for the update! - D2G
I was told that 2X Application Server 5.0 would have Dual Monitor Support and that it was released with Dual Monitor Support, but that it was not behaving as expected and was back in the shop to get Dual Monitor Support fixed. Am I being fed a load? Can someone actually working on Dual Monitor Support confirm? Thanks!
The people at the 2x sales/support office don't have an idea either. Its holding up a big customer for us that has to have it. Would be nice to know when we can expected it.
