Hi,
since I am using the same home directory for both Windows and Mac OS X (i.e., the same Documents/My Documents, Pictures/My Pictures and so on) I am experiencing an error 1606 while installing software (it happened with several different software packages).
As an example installing the Nokia Software Updater I get:
Error 1606: Could not access network location \\.PSF\.Home\Documents\.
On the Mac OS X the permissions are fine:
$ ls -ld Documents
drwxr-xr-x+ 26 corti corti 884 Nov 6 06:33 Documents
While on the Windows side the My Documents folder has the "read only" checkbox checked (and gray). If I uncheck it Windows removes the read only setting but when I open the properties of My Documents a second time the checkbox is checked again.
Looking at this forum I saw the hint about reinstalling the "prlNP.inf" network service but I get the following:
"The specified location does not contain information about your hardware"
Any hint?
Matteo
