I have the exact same issue. I have tried Gateway mode and Gateway SSL. I have also tried direct mode over WIFI.

Just upgraded last night to the new version of 2x to enabled Android usage. Tried connecting with the new Motorola Xoom and I'm getting this error code after trying to launch applications. Tried Gateway and Gateway SSL mode to connect with same results. I had another user install 2x on their Android phone and they were able to connect without any issues. Is there an android OS that isn't supported or possibly a version of the OS that is having issues with 2x?

Please enable log on the server console. Clear any previous logs and try again, port the logs on here or contact support for help.

Check also if you can deploy any applications using a windows client.

The most probably problem is some sort of firewall

@zippo Thank you for the quick reply. Windows clients are connecting without any issues inside the network and outside the firewall. I just updated the message above, to indicate that I had another Android user that was able to connect through their phone. I just ran a factory reset on the Xoom and will let the end user set it up this morning. When he is done making his personal changes, I will try again and post log info if it is still unable to connect.
