OK, I'll tell you exactly how this occurred. I was logged into our domain here at work through Parallels on a Boot Camp partition. I've used this partition for a long time. The help desk sent out an email alert saying that we were moving away from the Nortel VPN software over to Cisco VPN software. (I sometimes log into our domain via VPN on Parallels). SO, the instructions were: uninstall Nortel client ... which I did, but it was taking forever for the auto-restart on the uninstaller. So I went to the start menu and forced the restart. So far so good, then, after reboot, our helpdesk person tells me that I'll eventually see a window appear through the network to install the new Cisco client. All was well ... the new client installed... but upon restart after that process, I had no network connectivity through parallels - though my Mac side had an IP. I reinstalled Parallels tools ... still nothing ... I changed to Bridged networking ... still nothing ... I am really screwed right now! Anyone know what happened? Do I suddenly need to upgrade to version 6?

Did I understand right that you are installing Cisco VPN client inside Windows VM?
Do you able to connect to internet (from browser) from Windows?
Please post here the output of "ipconfig /all"
And... no, you don't need to upgrade to v6 if it is the only problem you have
PS: It is likely a Windows problem. Try to consult also with your admins, they could suggest some actions also
