External Drive Windows 8

Hi.

I'm running my VMs from my Mac HD but also have a thunderbolt connected external drive.

I can see the external drive OK with my Windows 7 VM but not from my Windows 8 VM. I can only see my C drive from the Windows 8 VM. Both VM's are configured the same - e.g. All disks are shared etc

Any ideas?
