does 2x have something like citrix's farm datastore, and if so, is it kept in some sort of database that can be housed on a server thats not a 2x server?

Hi there,

All the data required by the 2X ApplicationServer is stored in the registry..
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\2X)

To keep a backup of your settings you can export the settings from the 2X Console.
