I just reinstalled Windows 10 from an .ISO file which resides on my Mac desktop, and it appears to have taken all the files on the Mac over to the Windows desktop. I'm not using Coherence mode, but I'd like to keep my files separate. It appears that any of those files I delete in the Windows VM, it also disappears on the Mac - something I really don't want to happen. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

  2. Did you try to isolate your VM from Mac? Also you can change the "sharing option": VM configuration -> option -> sharing -> Share Folders-> none.
    Please check and reply.

    Jimcoyle,
As Maria said go to your VM configuration < Options < Sharing < Share Folders < Set To None and click share windows tab at the top of the page
and un-tick "access windows folders from mac". This should completely isolate your mac and your VM but be warned you will no longer be able to copy and paste content from mac to windows or vice versa. Thanks
