Guidance / Help please!

Hello, I have an iMac with Snow Leopard currently running Parallels 5 and Windows XP 64 bit. (I do not run boot camp, only coherence mode) I bought Parallels 6 Upgrade and a new OEM full version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. What I would like to do is remove the current version of Parallels 5 and Windows XP so I can start from scratch to install Parallels 6 and Windows 7. I'm guessing this might be the best way to do this? I am by no means an expert or even close to it when it comes to uninstalling programs on the Mac. Can someone please let me know the best way to uninstall XP and Parallels 5? Then, will it be a problem to install Parallels 6 because it's an upgrade?

Go to the Applications folder, and drag the Parallels program to the trash.

But there really is no need - just install the v6 upgrade. You can delete the old VM from within Parallels.

Thank you for the advise. I won't be doing this until the 14th of this month, but trying to get prepared by reading and asking in the forum. I appreciate it! I'm so used to windows with the uninstall routine it's hard to grasp that you just need to drag the whole program into the trash! I'm assuming what ever programs that are installed with in Windows will also get trashed, which is what I want. I want to get rid of everything that has anything to do with Windows XP and start over with a new full install of Windows 7.

Essentially, the programs installed to the VM's OS live within the disk file(s) that comprise the VMs file system. When you trash it, everything with it goes.
