HD expansion not expanding

In Parallels Desktop 5, I have expanded my virtual HD from 32 GB to 64 GB -- or at least my settings tell me that -- but nonetheless, when the files on the virtual HD start nearing 32 GB, I start to get warnings from Windows that disk space is low and that I need to remove files, and then I start having trouble saving files and running programs.

Is there a way for me to actually expand my virtual hard drive without deleting what's on it?

Yes, use Resize functionality at VM configuration editor. But extremely recommend you to make backup of your VM at first.
