I am running Parallels 3.0 on my mac and I recently was searching for the *.HDD files on my computer. I ran across 2. winxp.hdd winxp.hdd.0.{5fbaabe3-6958-40ff-92a7-860e329aab41}.hds I know that of course the winxp.hdd is my actual windows. The problem is this other file the winxp.hdd.0...... is a huge file. Am I allowed to delete this file or does it somehow work something. Thanks
.hds file is real VM's hard disk which is stored in .hdd bundle -- the default path is /Documents/Parallels/<VM name>/<VMname>.hdd. Also, there are stored all VM's snapshots (they have the same extension -- .hds). So, if you delete .hds file you loose your Windows installation and all your data.
