Help: Disk Read error - stuck in a loop

I've got a disk read error requesting "ctr-alt-del" which doesn't fix it. I can't start XP - how do I fix this?

Are you trying to use Windows XP as Guest OS?
What is your Host OS?
What is your Mac model?

Can you create a new virtual machine or do you need the old one?

Disk Read error - looped

I just downloaded the newer build and created a new virtual machine (per Xenos' instructions http://forum.parallels.com/showpost.php?p=100170&postcount=4) and the problem stopped.

Having the same problem, I believe it was caused by a recent software upgrade from Apple.
Tried to install the newest build, but still not fixed.
Please help.

 

I called Parallels support and it turned out that the windows portion of my hard drive was toast. I had to uninstall/delete Parallels & Windows, then reinstall everything. I only lost 4 days of data, it could have been much worse. You may be best off paying/calling in for a support call.

Fortunately I use Windows XP only when necessary and backup all data immediately. It seems that reinstall Parallels and XP is the easiest way for now.

in this case i would suggest you upgrade to the last build of Parallels Desktop 3.0 5626 http://download.parallels.com/v3/en/GA/Parallels-Desktop-5626-Mac-en.dmg

after that try to apply the article i provided you, hope that will help you
