I had Parallels installed on my Mac and a virtual copy of my Windows desktop from my prior work client.
I left the company and before i could back up my desktop, i foolishly logged into the companies VPN one last time to check old email.
They pushed out some software (deleting the .dll i assume) which now prompts the following error when trying to boot up: "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfc.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."
After logging in, i get the following error, a blank desktop and then the os reboots. "One of the files containing the system's registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful."
How can I recover the data from this parallels image? I have a personal licensed copy of windows xp that i can install and I know the data is still in the .pvs. Can I import it or recover it? I have the data saved as a single 30GB file which doesnt seem accessible w/o parallels.
Thanks,
jeremy
