I've got both an M1 MBP with 16GB RAM and a MS Surface for Business (with 16gb RAM and 10th gen i7). The windows machine is primarily for work (I use Visual Studio a lot).

It would be really useful to be able to use the M1 MBP from time to time. I've given my parallels installation 4 CPU's and 8gb RAM. The CPU in windows maxes out when loading Visual Studio. It appears to be capped at 1GHz.

Is this to be expected? Is there a more optimised configuration I should consider using instead? I'm not under any illusion that it should run anywhere new as fast as my windows laptop, after all, its emulation. But I thought I might be something better than this.
