HELP! 'The disk used by the "Windows 7" virtual machine can be compressed....'

Hi Parallel's - please can you offer me some advice on resolving this issue. I'm running Windows 7 on my Mac (OS X), and when I try to open Parallel's I get the error message:

'The disk used by the "Windows 7" virtual machine can be compressed only when it is stopped or running.'

The suggested solution cannot work as all the configuration options are greyed-out. This has occurred after Parallels asked if I would like to compress the drive, or something... What can I do?

Please help!

Apologies, I've just overcome the issue by pressing Virtual Machine>Stop. Then restarting in Safe Mode...

Phew! Time to back-up! :)

I have a system that when trying to recover from hibernation, I'm receiving "Windows 7" virtual machine can be compressed only when it is stopped or running". How can I resolve this? What are the suggested solutions? Thanks in advance!
