Dear all, the titlke already says it all: for more than an hour now, I tried to uninstall parallels desktop 10 - unfortunately, to no avail... I find the support system of parallels quite confusing, honestly. therefore, I am sorry but not able to tell you why I found the following information: I am supposed to find the parallels folder inside my programs/apps folder, and drag the icon to the garbage bin... Strangely, there is no such folder inside my programs folder. Thus, I am left with the parallels icon in my dock - which opens parallels when I click on it. in the menu, I am prompted to upgrade to parallels 18; I also already saw a pop-up inviting me to download Windows..... I neither want to upgrade, nor do I want to download Windows - I just want to uninstall parallels for now!!! How on earth can I do this, pls? Overall, the experience today has been a deeply disappointing one: I might have expected such a lack of support and confusing structure of the sites (I feel like Im running in circles) from some flimsy company, and I used to think of Parallels being a reputable company (where did all the Germanness go: transparency and efficiency? I am very sorry should there be any harsh words in my request, and I duly apologise. However, by now I feel helpless, and utterly left alone... Is wanting to uninstall a piece of software (which I paid for, mind you) such a reprehesable thing, that no help at all is provided?
You might want to download CleanMyMac from MacPaw. I'm not sure that the free version will do what you want, but the uninstaller function is quite good (if available). I have no affiliation with them but do own their program.
