How can i use a WinXP ( Guest OS ) network connection in Mac OS ( Host ) ?

I am using PD for Mac 2.5 Build 3214. WinXP is installed as guest OS on a VM.
I need a USB CDMA modem ( HUAWEI EC325 ) to connect to the internet.
After some struggeling with the USB connection problems i updated to Build 3214 and was able to operate the modem under WinXP and get a connection.

Now i would like to "share" that connection with Mac OS. i´m sure there is a way to do this! When i have a connection in MacOS i can easily share it with the WinXP using the "shared networking" standard setup. So why should it not work the other way around?

Any useful hint is appreciated,

I dont mind at all. Not a secret anyway.
Think Alicia was just a bit worried that someone screws up his network setup by doing this.
So everybody intending to do this should be aware of the potential problems and side-effects.

On the other hand i think its a good idea to discuss this solution in the public.
maybe there are other ways to get this "reverse network sharing" working.
would be nice to have a solution also for people who dont want to mess with the command line. Maybe a script?

I also thought about using a separate WinXP VM for this workaround. So my "primary" WinXP VM would still work with the default network sharing when have a network connection on the MacOs side.
Another idea is to use a separate Location-Set in the networkin preferences on the MacOs for the necessary changes. So one would have to switch the location to "Reverse-Location" and startup the "Reverse-Sharing" WinXP VM.
Still the pvsnatd process need to be killed.

These are just my quick and dirty thoughts.
Hope everybody experimenting with this will give feedback and help to find the best way to do this.

Sharing network connection
Please do the following:

1. Open the virtual machine configuration (see the Editing the Virtual Machine Configuration article for more information) and choose the "Network Adapter 1" to the "Host-only Networking" mode.

2. Click the "Preferences" menu option in the "Parallels Desktop" menu and clear the "Enable DHCP scope for host-only networking" checkbox.

3. Browse to Applications-Utilities and open Terminal. Type the command below and press the "Enter" key:

* sudo killall -hup pvsnatd

Note: Your administrator password is required to perform the above operation.

4. Boot Windows and set up the "internet sharing" as described in the article below:

5. Open System Preferences in Mac OS X.

6. Proceed to Network Settings, renew the IP address of the Host Only connection, and disable all other connection types (please set the "network port configuration" in the Show menu and disable all other network adapters).

newjosch is right, be careful while performing these operation. Especially with the sudo command.
But this workaround should help anyway:)

What will it do? Can you undo it then? I just need to have this setup at work. At home I want to use shared wifi connection again. Will this feature be in future versions of parallels?
