When I boot my iMac, automatically Parallels boots and "Windows XP" boots - no problem.
In my iMac "Dock" I have a Windows icon with the famous Parallels red stripes.
When I right click this icon, at the top of the menu I see:
"Microsoft Windows XP" (not checked)
"Windows XP" (checked - thus this is the XP that loads at iMac boot)
When I left click the icon - and when both XP's, and Parallels, have been closed - I get a small window headed "Parallels Virtual Machines" (plural!). In that window are listed the two XP's. I can then open one or the other by clicking it.
Also, when I click on some XP icons (Shortcuts) on SOME of my iMac desktop - Excel, Word, etc. - an XP ("Microsoft Windows XP") boots - in addition to the already-open "Windows XP" that was open from iMac boot.
Thus I have two XP's on my VM called: Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows XP - one or the other or both loading and running, depending on my actions.
And do I also have TWO VM's loaded?
Problem: I have - stupidly - loaded info, files, and applications some into one, and some into the other XP.
From the Start menus, the Apps lists are different in the two XP's.
I have installed Avast! anti-virus - but it only shows on one XP. And the other warns me "No Anti-Virus installed"
What I wish to do is consolidate the two XP's so that I have only one XP with ALL the files, apps etc. that are now on the 2 current XP's - without losing anything, and make sure that I don't have two VM's.
Another question. Recently, some time after my Kapersky (sp?) security expired, I got a window offering free Kapersky security for one year. After I downloaded and installed it I was then told to pay for it if I wanted it to work. What's this all about?
And lastly: I haven't needed help for months - a year? - and then e-mailed help from Parallels was free. Can't find it now - what happened?
