How do I type a # key on Windows

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I've tried everything I can think of and search the kb and here (though searching for # generally brings back everything) - but how do I type #? I have the parallels keyboard installed, but nothing doing!

Please help, it's driving me insane! Thanks!
