How do you backup the virtual disk file so i can open the virtual disk

I need to send in my mac book pro to have the hd replaced. Is there a way to back up the virtual disk file?

I need to give it to the apple store tomorrow at 9AM on Saturday the 25th. please reply before then.

Shut down (don't suspend) your VM, then copy your .hdd file to another drive. Or, when you clone your hard drive (you are doing this, right?) your VM will be copied along with the rest of your drive.

thanks for the help. My mac is in the apple store and will be mailed to the depot where they will reformat it. I am very happy that I dont have to use another license of XP.
