How the heck can I force a VM display of 640x480

Discussion in 'Installation and Configuration of Parallels Desktop' started by Parallels User, Jun 5, 2017.

  1. I need a VM display that is 640x480 for an old MacOS app ... is there any way to force this resolution when running on a MacBookPro wth Retina display?

Hello SterlingG, please let us know what version of Parallels Desktop and Windows you're currently running.

  3. NOT RUNNING WINDOWS ... read my original post ... its Snow Leopard Server ... on top of Desktop 12 on top of Sierra ...
On my Retina display if I set the SL resolution to 640x480 Parallels shrinks the screen and makes the characters unreadable ...
there is also no way to have Parallels simulate a 640x480 16 bit virtual display on a retina real display.

SterlingG, try selecting VM menu > View > Retina resolution > Scaled, or setting VM configuration > Hardware > Graphics > Resolution to Scaled.

  5. Thanks . that solved the issue.
