how to enable 3d acceleration

Hi I'm trying workstation extreme 6 on a ga-p55a-ud3, intel i7 870, geforce 8400gs 512mb, and windows 7 64.
I'm wondering if I have to do do something to enable 3d acceleration on this device.
If I go on program's preferences on the tab intel vt-d it says initialization for intel vt-d failed, even if my processor should be vt-d capable.
Is vt-d related to 3d graphics? because I have a program which uses directx and crashes as soon as I run it. Virtualbox does the same, so far only vmware could run this program.

you computer must support intel VT-D and VT-X, it is related in the sense that you need that technology enable to allow you the assignation with your VM.

verify if your computer support it ...
