After a recent update, it seems my PPTX, XLSX, and DOCX docs are beiing started in Parallels rather than by the Mac programs. If I open a doc from Entourage (as an attachment), I really want it opened on the Mac, not in the Parallels instance. If I wanted it on the PC side, I'd open it in Outlook. How do I change this behaviour back? Thanks!
On the Mac side, do a Get Info on one of the files, and set the file to open with Office for Mac by default.
Cool. Addition - after making the change, click the <Change All> button to make the association stick for any file type rather than just the file you're modifying. Note to Parallels team - can we make this an option during install/configure?
Doesn't work from Entourage I've done this and files generally open properly, but DOCX and XLSX attachments in Entourage still try to open in Windows (not too bad when Windows is already open but a real pain when Windows has to start up).
