How to permanently change file association

Hello

I have made quicktime screen recordings and the videos stay saved to my Mac desktop. but when double clicking to open the videos, the videos launch in the windows environment. I don't want that. it is tedious to right click open in quicktime, to stay in Mac OS. how can I prevent this from occurring?

Hello, thanks but it's not associating that I want. I have parallels on one desktop and then I swipe to a new desktop for Mac. I use QuickTime independently of Windows. I don't want to associate with windows. I want to record my video, export and open it all while staying in Mac. But when I export currently, it reflects a windows file icon with parallel red bars on it
