I purchased a Network Accessable Driver - HP MediaSmart Server EX485. It comes with a disk, HP MediaSmart Server with MS Windows Home Server Installation Disk. I am not able to load the software using Parallels/Windows XP. However I was able to load the software using Bootcamp and XP (from another laptop). Most everything else runs Paralles/XP, but when I stick the installation disk in and fails to find the server, suggesting the network connection is down (but it's not). Any ideas or anyone experience similar issues?

I am not entirely sure what kind of network connection is required by the software but you can try switching to the bridged networking mode, maybe that is what confusing it.

Network

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate you taking the time. My XP has a network connection and when I configured the HP Mediasmart Server with my brother's Bootcamp XP, it didn't need anything special. Just a network connection to download updates to the software.

Since the reference pages say the bridged network is more complex to setup than shared networks.... I might try that, but I don't use Windows much.

Frankly, I was expecting a working machine with Parallels, rather than having to learn how to configure Windoes. BUT, that's my problem not yours. Again, thanks.
