I have a Doubt about Parallels and SuperDrive

I'd like to buy a macbook with Parallels Software,

but my friend told me that I couldn't read and write, cd's and dvd's with Parallels. Is it true?

I know that Parallels Runs Win & Linux over OS X, that's great, but I'm worried about the SuperDrive.

Can I install software windows using parallels? Like Photoshop in my Virtual Machine :confused:
 
I didn't have a problem installing my copy of Windows XP Pro, Photoshop CS2 and Microsoft Office on my Macbook Pro C2D.
