After re-installing Windows XP in Parallels Desktop for Mac, the Windows Desktop files, such as programs, appear as icons on my Mac OS desktop. These "Windows" icons cannot be moved or deleted. How do I configure the VM to not show these Windows icons? The files end in the suffix, ".ink." I also have a Windows folder that shows up. I'm running a MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.1, and Parallels 4.0.3846
Hi Bob, Just wondering if you got a response to this question. These darned .lnk files are starting to clutter up my neatly organised file system, and I can't seem to get rid of them! Anyone know how to stop them generating? Thanks.
These .lnk files point to Windows desktop; to get rid of them, you need to disable Shared Profile in virtual machine's configuration (Virtual Machine > Configure...)
