Okay, first of all, I'm not even sure if this is possible or not, but...
Would it be possible to use Parallels to install Windows on a Boot Camp partition?
Mostly because it would be all too convenient to be able to do something productive while a secondary OS is installing, and whenever the OS 'restarts' I wouldn't have to suffer through the Mac startup sound, which for some reason got really loud since 10.4.9 and wakes up people if sounded at 3am.
