Installed XP, need SP2 but it won't install, and ideas?

I have a 2004 version on Windows XP. Installed it with Parallels Desktop 5 on my Mac, and tried to use the Microsoft Update. It installed SP1 (this may have been on the CD), but repeated attempts to download and install SP2 have all ended in "failed!" Any idea how to get it to install? Parallels is useless to me if I can't do this.

It is not necessary a Parallels Desktop fault. Take a look at file C:\windows\Windowsupdate.log (may be zip it and post here), there could be a desciption of why install failed
