Installing an Epson 1290 printer onto Windows XP

I have been using an Epson 1290 printer connected through USB locally on an iMac.

Having installed Parallels Desktop successfully onto this machine, it refuses to recognise this printer, saying that there is no communication link between the printer and the computer.

I have had no problem installing a network printer onto Parallels Desktop.

Does anyone know a solution to my problem ?
