Installing Desktop for Mac

I'm confused as hell!

I have XP SP2 installed on my Intel MacBookwith boot camp...

Is there a way to use that instalation with Parallels Desktop for Mac as a VM or do I need to somehow re-install Windowsa within teh Paralelsl VM software

I've treid reading eh instructions but I for teh life of me can't figure it out....

Presently you have to install Parallels Desktop for Mac and install Windows in the VM. There is no cross compatibility between Boot Camp and Parallels Desktop for Mac.

If Boot Camp is working for you, then there is little need to "duplicate" the effort by also running Parallels Desktop for Mac unless you would prefer the flexibility of running Windows in a window and being able to run other guest operating systems. Note that Parallels will not run Windows as fast as Boot Camp (close, but not as fast.)

thnx for the suggestion --ywa I do want to be able to switch more easily bewteen teh systems

so very briefly...how do I acutally install windows in the VM?

and cam Ieave boot camp on there too or do I need to remove it?
 
I have both Boot Camp and Parallels on my iMac. They each have their own installation of Windows, of course. I use Boot Camp only for games, leaving Parallels free to run productivity apps and the like.

Installing Windows in the VM is pretty easy. Pop your Windows CD in, configure the VM to boot from the CD, and start the VM. Then it's just like installing on a real PC.
