Installing Window XP using Site Lincense with Paralles on Mac.

I work for a large organization, which has a site license for Window XP. When installing Window XP using Parallels you are requested for the Product Key, which in my case would be the site license key. My IT personnel has told me that I would have to purchase a single copy of Windows XP. (They are non-Mac users) I do not believe their answer because I can't believe Windows or Parallels would make every user purchase a single copy when working in large organization. Do I need to really get a single licensed copy of Window XP or should I insist on them giving the site license Product Key? Help I'm a Mac user in a Window World.

rubbish.. then just use a custom install and it will install XP just as you would on a real PC, with no wizards etc...
If you have a key to enter, then enter it, if its already included in the install process, then it will sail through without asking you for the key.

I use XP corporate in parallels and I did just that.

I agree with Darkone. While I don't use a site licence, several people on here have mentioned it. In fact, it is a big advantage, because you don't have to deal with Microssoft's reactivation issues when going from say, bootcamp to parallels.

As Purplish said, it shouldn't be a problem. I used transporter to clone a laptop, then just had to rename and rejoin the domain. if this is for a Workgroup, just rename it

You should continue to demand that they give you the site license key if you are working in the organization.

I use a Corporate version of Windows XP myself. As another poster mentioned, the most significant advantage of the Corporate version is no crap activation.

I don't use Windows Vista since there is no way to avoid that crap activation, even on Corporate keys.

I will roll on and demand the access to the organization Windows XP. Thank you for the advice. Working in an IT hating Mac environment is not always easy.
