Installing Windows 2000 Professional SP1

Greetings,

I am considering purchasing a MacBook for grad school this fall, and I would necessarily have to run Parallels or BootCamp because of a software package I use that is not available for the Mac OS (Logos Bible Software).

Anyway, the only copy of Windows I own is of 2000 Professional SP1. The requirements list 2000 Professional SP4. My quesiton is can I install 2000 Professional SP1, and then install SP4 or will Parallels only allow me to install 2000 Professional SP4.

I have a computer running Windows XP Home Edition SP2, but I'm not clear on how Transporter works. If I "transported" Win XP from that computer to Parallels wouldn't I be breaking the MS license agreement by running XP on two machines?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I haven't purchased the Macbook, and I just can't afford to do so unless I know I can get it working without dropping an extra $300 on the Windows OS!
 
Actually you can try , in most cases it is installed, otherwise you can slipstream SP4 in CD


Transporter creates Virtual Disks with all your files from PC in that image, if you will not use the Windows at the same time, and later leave only one, there is no license violation
 
Well, I can't really afford to try. I need to know it is going to work one way or another because my budget is so limited. What is slipstreaming?

I may just have to decide to go with a Dell or live without my Bible software...both of those choices suck.
