Internet connectivity issues

Sometimes when I travel, my Windows XP (parallels) cannot connect to the internet, even though the Mac (OSX) is connected. The network adapter shows being connected in the lower right of the Parallels window. I tried "repair connection" within XP, to no avail. Any suggestions?

Assuming you are using a wireless connection, a few things to check are:

Will the nework you are trying to use allow more than one connection to the same box?

Is your VM's name diferent from your OSX short name?

Is your VM MAC address different from your Airport MAC address?

All of these have caused problems on some networks in the past. Of course you are connecting to a network with a DHCP server, right?

If none of those points turn out to be the problem, you might try host only networking which shares your OSX connection with your VM.
