Hello I updated to Sierra and have now discovered that my Windows XP is no longer connected to the internet. How can I regain connection please? Thanks Joe
Hello Swati Thank you for your very prompt response. I re-installed Parallels tools, but I still have no internet connection when I go into XP. What can I try now? Thanks Joe
Hi @JoeS9, please check to see which networking mode is selected, Shared or Bridged. Try switching between the two, then switching back. NOTE: If you are using the wireless connection on your Mac and Bridged network in the virtual machine, make sure your Wi-Fi router (AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule, etc.) is not configured to provide Wi-Fi access by Mac address.
Hi Paul Chris This is not working and I am getting the following message: failed to open the parallels networking module. I need to start working on a Windows app tomorrow - is there any chance you could take over my computer and do the command prompt diagnosis/fix? I am getting a little desperate here...
Thank you for sharing the information. Parallels Desktop 8 is not compatible and optimized version of macOS Sierra (10.12.5). Please check this article. The issue which you're experiencing is due to incompatibility. I'd suggest you to purchase the full version of Parallels Desktop 12 and install on your Mac computer.
Okay, thanks for your response, Swati. Can I upgrade to 12 without having to re-install Windows XP? Does 12 work with Windows XP? Finally - is there a workaround to continue using Parallels 8 and Windows XP online?
Hi @JoeS9 , upgrading to Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac, will not make any changes to your Windows virtual machine. Please click here to know about the operating systems supported by Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac. As it was informed earlier, Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac is not compatible with Mac Os Sierra. Upgrading to Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac, is the only option here.
