Is there a way to disable background programs/etc?? (more below)

I use adium (instant messenger) on my mac ... But when I'm using steam to play games in windows, using parallels, I don't want to see notifications come on. Is there a way to globally stop notifications using parallels?? Thanks!

 

That's something you should ask on the Adium support forums.

Do you know if this problem does not occur in other full screen apps on the Mac? If that were the case or was possible, then you could ask Parallels to do the same thing for Parallels Desktop.
