Is there any way to stop Windows from rearranging the desktop?

I know this is probably a Windows issue, but when working with Parallels, and going back and forth between Single Window mode and Full Screen, my desktop icons are constantly rearranging themselves. Is there any way to prevent this, or a workaround solution?

Im assuming you have right clicked on the desktop in single window and select "Arrange Icons by..." and un-checked "Auto Arrange" and "Align to Grid"

the only other thing i can see is placement of icons and the is a resolution change. windows will adjust the icons to fit withing resolution, so if you keep your icons over right and down and then change back to single window, windows is going to move them to fit. there is no stopping that.

I used to be a real stickler on that and thru time got used to putting my icons left and up so if there was a resolution change. minimal icon movement was achieved . I run "Align to Grid" in my parallels VMs

    hope this helps
