Kernel Panic in Linux 2.6.x (Gentoo/Ubuntu)

Having a strange problem trying to get Linux set up in the latest Parallels RC3. I tried to install Ubuntu, and the installer proceeded fine, no difficulties. After trying to boot the installation, however, I kept getting some strange errors that I couldn't track down (invalid EIP). After booting off the ISO and getting the same kernel installed as the installation uses, I began getting kernel panics instead, always at the same spot.

Since I don't really have much else to do, I started grabbing other Linux installations, and I found that I got the exact same kernel panic on the latest Gentoo LiveCD, so I figured I'd take a screenshot and post it up - maybe this is a kernel bug, maybe it's a Parallels bug, but either way I'd like to figure out how to get it fixed.

Posted is a screenshot of the Gentoo kernel panic (since it's prettier).
