kernel panic when installing windows xp

Bit poster
just bought a new macbook pro core 2 and parallels.
installed parallels - but when trying to install windows xp, i get a kernel panic every time i try to turn on the virtual machine with the windows xp cd in the machine.
help please - any ideas??

solved my own problem...
installed the Parallels update - now windows is installing.
