Keyboard and mouse do not respond

Hi!

When converting a physical Windows XP PC with Parallels transporter (PD 4 for Mac) and then finalizing the configuration, at the end of step 1 of 4, I should log into the VM, but both mouse and keyboard do no respond. On other machines I did before this worked fine. Even when switching both keyboard and mouse to the PC with the USB config, it does not help (this is what I do on physical PCs when a USB input device stops responding...)

Parallels tools are not yet installed on the VM as I cannot login... and I tried different view modes.

Anybody else got an idea?

try with ps/2 mouse

Hi,

I ran into nearly the same problem with Ver 5 , I found a solution that worked for me, don't know if this will work for you :
(I did not had to activate WinXP, but no mouse or keyboard present, I am only focussing on that).

On source VM, make sure that a ps/2 mouse with driver is present (device manager), otherwise connect a mouse.
Change user profile to "auto.logon"
Start->run->rundll32 netplwiz,UsersRunDll
Klick off "Users must logon" and confirm password.

Reboot and test if that works.

Import VM into Parallels
Importer will run up to step 4 and NOT stop in step 1(or 2)
Wait, wait, wait until timeout is reached an redirect to support page starts
close and set focus to XP window
connect a ps/2 mouse to your MAc and make sure that parellels connects it to the vm
Now you can "click" and confirm the hardware detections
After that reboot the vm
Install parallels tools one more time ( mouse sync issue)
Maybe you can give this a try, even if it's "handmade"

try to connect a ps/2 mouse on the source vm and set user-logon to "auto"
After import on Mac you can confirm hardware detection and install parallels tools one more time.
After reboot it worked for me
