Latest Update Slower on Windows 7

Since installing the latest update for Parallels the performance scores for both machines went DOWN (I would think with an update they would go up). I've also noticed that the VMs are generally a bit slower.

Is this a known issue? This is happening on 2 machines (and the perf rating dropped on both).

- Macbook dual core aluminum 4gb RAM, 256GB video memory
- New 27" iMAC i7, 8GB RAM, 512MB video

Both the scores dropped for the video performance in Windows 7.
 
How are you measuring performance? Are you using the Windows Experience Index thingy? If so, I'd distrust its results. I recently test drove Fusion 3.1 beta for a night, and while that VM is generally slower on the games I use to test speed (Warhammer 40,000 and Battle for Middle Earth - no, I don't only use these for testing, I play them as well ;-) the Experience index gave me numbers way higher than what I get on my Parallels VM, in particular as regards video. So I guess that the Windows Experience Index is great when you're running Windows on a real box, but not when you're running it on a VM.
 
I am using both the perf rating and general day to day usage of the VM. Since the update it is slower. I think the performance rating is spot on - the OS is slower under this build in this VM. I know the performance scores can be wonky but in this case it matches exactly what I'm seeing on 2 different systems. Perf rating went down, general usage of the system is slower.
 
Hm. While I can't say I've seen any noticeable speed increase on 9344, I also haven't notice any decrease, either. I'm running my Windows 7 VM on an MBAir 1.6 GHz.

One thing I recently learned is that assigning 2 virtual processor to the VM on the MBAir can actually lead to performance degradation since the processor(s) become quite hot and the MBAir then switches off one core. I used to have performance degradation after a while of working in the VM, most noticeably while running games - since turning off one processor, performance remains very good aven after 10 hours of continuous work in the VM.
