Launching published applications from Web on Linux/Ubuntu?

I am trying to launch published applications from an Ubuntu Linux distribution. I am browsing to the page with Firefox. When I click on a web published app, I just get the save dialog box. Is there a way to launch the .2xa app from Firefox (v2.0) running on Ubuntu(6,10)? I have the newest appserverclient working correctly on the system.

What desktop do you use? in KDE use kcontrol (KDE Components/File associations) Add to group "application" new type, for instance x-2ax, and point to appserverclient binary on your system.
