    Hi,
I have two external disk files (hdd) attached to my XP install instance. I went to add another disk file and the option to add is not there. I can only add a serial or parallel device.

Is there a limit on the number of external disks that can be attached. I have a PC  that contains 2 SATA drives and has capacity for 6 IDE drives as it has 3 IDE connectors.

Since Parallels implements a software version of the hardware connectors, I assumed (oops) that you could just go on adding drives.

The drives are expandable in size so I dont have a problem with disk space, but I'm curious to know why the limit ?

    Thanks,

    Paul

Four, including the CDROM. Two IDE controllers with two channels each.
