    Greetings,

I use the G13 Gaming board as a programmer. when using Parallels none of the modification keys (Cmd, Shift, Alt & Ctrl) from the game board, register on the virtual machine (Windows 7). This happens for all entry modes (Keystroke, Multi-Key, & Text Block).

    Examples: (Results are case sensitive)
when pressing the G1 Key which has the Multi Key ["down "Alt', up "Alt", down "J", up "J"] all that is recognized by Parallels is "j"
When pressing the G2 key which has Keystroke "Left Cmd + W" assigned to it. all that is recognized by Parallels is "w"
When pressing the G3 key which has the text block "(=IF(,,,)" assigned to it. all that is returned by Parallels is "=if9,,,0"

I have check the option for optimizing the Modifier Keys for gaming and that did not help.

I am currently running Parallels build 9.0.23062

    Hello.

["down "Alt', up "Alt", down "J", up "J"] sequence is not valid for Alt+J, Alt key released too early.
Proper sequence for Alt+j is "down Alt, down J, up J, up Alt".

Please check your keyboard macro at OSX side. This small app may help for that: http://manytricks.com/keycodes/

    KonstantinO,

You are correct. That would not be a valid sequence for "Alt+J". However that macro is working as intended.

When in Microsoft Excel 2010 (PC) you can quickly access items on the Ribbon by first pressing "Alt" then pressing a series of letter keys to select the command you want. That example was pulled from a macro that does this.

I loaded the Keycodes App and all of the key combinations that I tested produced the same results in the Keycodes App for both the G13 and the Keyboard.

    Thanks for the help

Hi TopherR. Did you ever figure out a solution to your problem?

I am experiencing the same issue when trying to map basic controls such as COPY and PASTE.

All that is recognized is the C button when COPY+C is mapped.

Also, anything function key related seems to have the same behavior.

When trying to map the parallels key command for the INSERT button utilizing FN+RETURN, all that is being seen on the Parallels side is the RETURN.

Any information you have that resolved this would be helpful. It's driving me insane.

Also, I downloaded the Keycodes app and it is in fact showing that the proper keys are being pressed on the Mac side. And I tried using the same as you,....Keystroke & Multi-Key. Neither work.

    Hey Simmer,

This issue affects all of the Modifier keys (Shift, Cmd, Alt, FN, and Apple keys)

I was not able identify whether it was Parallels or the Logitech software is the cause of this issue. I had hoped that it was Parallels. (Logitech does not support Mac very thoroughly. great support for PC hardware.)

Unfortunately I never found a fix for this issue. I ended up buying a 2nd G13 on ebay for $20 and I run 2 of them side by side.

    EDIT:

Also as a heads up there is a irritating as hell bug with the latest Logitech software for Macs that removes any instance of the "A" key in any multi-key macro. Every time you restart the Logitech software you have to go and re-add the "A".

    Wow. Thanks for Replying TopherR.

Thats interesting. So the 2nd G13 works? Do you have it dedicated to the windows side only?

Interestingly, when I selected the G13 in the Parallels device tab to take control of the G13 exclusively on the windows side of things, my entire system crashed. Seems it doesnt play well with parallels.

Also, the functions work perfectly fine on the Mac side of things, which makes me believe its parallels.

I mean....its only emulating keyboard presses.

I actually had problems with parallels even before I bought a G13 as far as keyboard mapping goes. I had to download software on the windows side to change some key mapping in the registry just to get a standard widnows keyboard number pad mapped properly because Parallels does not play nice even when windows keyboards are attached.

    Thanks again for the reply.

Correct, I have one for the Mac side and one for the pc side.

I assume you have a laptop and are disconnecting and reconnecting the G13. And when you do the little pick up asks you which side to want the device assigned to. You click the pc side and the whole computer restarts. If so the way around it is when you connect the G13 assign it to the Mac side. Then right click the parallels dock icon. Go to devices and select the G13. It should move over without a fuss. You do the same thing to assign it back the Mac side. (I'm using the latest patch of parallels)

Interesting. I actually did right click the parallels icon to select the G13. That was when it Mac OS crashed. But maybe it was because I still had the logitech software running. Ill have to experiment.

One more question....why not just switch ownership between Mac and Parallels/Windows instead of owning 2 G13's? What are the benefits? You have me contemplating getting another.

Thanks for all your help TopherR!
