lost my information 3rd time!!!

Hi,

I have payed for parallels 4 and unfortunately it makes me a lot of trouble. I loose my information 3rd time now.
Yesterday I was working in windows XP, all was ok. Today I wasnt able to start the same virtual machine anymore.
Clicking on it just made parallels desktop to freeze and needed to reboot my macbook.

So how to recover it if possible? Any instructions for parallels 4?

1) what build of Parallels Desktop do you use, Parallels Desktop -> about Parallels Desktop (in case it is less then 3810 please upgrade)
2) after reboot of Mac did it help to start Parallels Desktop?
 
I use the latest build 3810. And rebooting is not fixing the corrupt instance of virtual machine. Why does it become corrupt anyway? What should I avoid to do so it doesnt happen again?

Do you shut down the virtual machine correctly, i.e Start -> Shut Down, or Virtual Machine -> Shut Down?
