Mac 10.5.1 - Vista - No Internet access

Running 5582 on 10.5.1, I am unable to get a network connection from Vista to the Internet. Shared Folders work fine. Local network access works fine (e.g., I can print to a locally network printer). But, for some reason, using Bridged (preferred) or Shared I cannot access the Internet - both IE and Windows generally report that I'm not connected to the Internet.

I've (for now) disabled both the Parallels Guest and NAT adaptors on the Mac side (since I'm not using either - I prefer Shared).

Any ideas? I really want to avoid re-installing Vista....

sudo killall –hup pvsnatd

I don't want internet access in Vista

Hi all,

I'm afraid this might not be directly relevant to the previous discussion.

Essentially, I've installed Vista on parallels on my Macbook but I DON'T want it to communicate with the outside world via the internet. As I understand it so far, unless I actively set it up to do this, then viruses etc can't get at it, and the rest of my computer. Is this correct?

I only want to use the windows environment to run programs offline at the moment like stats packages which I use for work and I don't want to infect my nice new Macbook with lots of nasty viruses through the Windows bit.

As you can tell, I'm not really a computer techy and don't understand the ins and outs of how the Vista interacts with the hardware and the OSX elements.

I'm running Vista. OS X 10.5.2.
